Susan Purves is an educator with 25 years of experience. Her training in natural resources management led her to instruct education programs in Ontario Provincial Parks and outdoor education centres.
It was at these centres that she became passionate about experiential education. Susan left the public service in 1993 to start an experiential-based ecotourism business that introduced people to the natural and cultural heritage of Algonquin Park. She followed that up with the Ecotourism Program at Sir Sandford Fleming College where she developed and delivered courses as an instructor.
Now Susan fulfills her passion for on-going education through technical and educational writing, team and leadership training, conference planning and facilitation. She holds certification in high ropes facilitation and enjoys instructing on her community indoor climbing wall.
Susan’s philosophy is, "We learn every day, from ourselves, from others and from our environment. The more we do, the more we learn."
Susan is proud to be a member of the Summit team.
